Recently we’ve worked with some exceptionally interesting clients on some truly remarkable cases.
Sainsburys
We act for Sainsbury's in relation to a wide range of real estate issues supporting them in their strategy to grow their business. Areas of work include the acquisition and development of sites for new stores, store extensions and purchase of existing portfolios of stores owned by other retailers. We also offer strategic advice on all stages of the planning process for various development sites, including judicial review proceedings and compulsory purchase issues. Another key element of our work has been helping them releasing value locked up in Sainsbury's real estate including securitisations, leasebacks and redevelopment projects. TFL/LUL
As a trusted partner of TfL/LUL, we play a key role in helping them keep the capital's transport system, particularly the Underground running smoothly. Our main involvement has been on their PFI/PPP contracts starting with the London Underground Power Project, which was signed in 1998. More recently we have assisted with them bringing the Metronet and Tube Lines businesses back in-house and restructuring £1.8bn of debt and we are also advising on the procurement of new rolling stock and signalling for the Underground. Cobham and the UK’s biggest PFI
Our working culture helped us to act in the UK’s biggest private finance initiative – providing air-to-air refuelling and transport to the RAF. We acted for Cobham, a leading aerospace and defence company. Bill, one of our corporate partners talks about this here.
