We’d like to see you at one of the many Open Days we hold throughout the year. Next to our Vacation Schemes, they’re the best way to understand our working culture properly. These one day events are intended to give you a flavour of our firm and an insight into the training programme we offer. Different speakers, including a Partner and some of our current trainees, will give presentations. You’ll also get hints and tips on how to apply for a training contract. Not least, you’ll undertake a group activity with some of our trainees.
What happens on an Open Day
During Open Days, you can usually expect to:
- Be welcomed by a partner.
- Meet various people from the firm.
- Have lunch with some of our trainees.
- Get an insight into one of our practice areas.
- Attend a variety of skills sessions.
Skills sessions
Open Days involve interactive sessions in which you can practice the kind of skills you’ll need to be a successful trainee. These sessions are mostly based around group work, and they are often run by existing trainees at the firm. Previous sessions have covered:
- The application process – how to improve your chances covering hints and tips on the recruitment process.
- Commercial awareness – getting the edge in a business-focused firm.
- Negotiation skills – achieving results through communication and decision-making.
- Covering hints and tips on the recruitment process – how to improve your chances.
